The Chairwoman of the National Organization of Turkmenistan for Bar Сodes participated in the EuropeAid project seminar

In the delegation of our country, the Chairwoman of the National Organization of Turkmenistan for Bar –°odes, a member of the Council of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Aykamar Malikgulyyeva participated in the EuropeAid introductory seminar on «Support for further sustainable Agriculture and Rural development in Turkmenistan” - Phase III (SARD III)».

This project is being implemented by the European Union in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources, as well as the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan since 2016 and is aimed at achieving the objectives of the national sector for sustainable agriculture, development and institutional support for the rural and the agricultural sector.

The event took place in the first decade of October in the Republic of Ireland and was aimed at acquainting with the experience of this country as one of the most successful European exporters supplying more than two thirds of the total volume of their national agro-food production to different states.

In particular, the seminar provided an opportunity to get acquainted with the Irish experience in supporting and encouraging small and medium-sized enterprises - exporters of agro-food products, as well as to study the relevant requirements for quality standards and food safety in European countries and requirements related to entering the agro-food markets of the European Union.

During their stay in Dublin and other regions of the country, the participants visited a number of public and private structures, organizations and companies specializing in food and agriculture, as well as monitoring and controlling compliance of products with food safety requirements and standards that promote food products, the growth of Irish enterprises in the global market. They are: Sustainable Food Development Systems of Ireland, Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine Resources (DAFM), Food Security Authority of Ireland (FSAI), Irish State Food Agency (Bord Bia), Enterprise Ireland, Ashtown Teagasc Food Research Centre and others.

For the participants of the seminar, trips to enterprises and agricultural enterprises specializing in various areas of food production were organized.

The meetings and presentations provided an insight into the approach of the Irish government to the development and implementation of food safety control policies, and familiarize with the leading programs in this area. Among them are «Food Wise 2025» and «The Origin Green», the only sustainable development program in the world that operates on a national scale, uniting the government, the private sector and food producers.

The participation of the Chairwoman of the National Organization of Turkmenistan for Bar –°odes in the introductory training seminar of the European Union is relevant to the large-scale work carried out by GS1 Turkmenistan on introducing international standards and norms into the national practice that promote Turkmen producers enter to world markets and stimulate them in terms of innovative development.
